Soaring...

As an aloof eagle flying high,
I watch below me life pass by
Its many sudden twists 'n turns
reaching out to caress and burn
those caught in its timeless snare

Arrogance, greed, pride they wear
As an unyielding universe looks on
many eons upon which suns shone
In height, in joy there is no defeat
as unaware victims lie at my feet

In uplifting winds I find my peace
for way below I indulge and feast
my feathers fine, my talons sharp
I fear neither daylight nor the dark
And when I come to be reborn,

I'd never want to be man: a shark!
