The great Bodhisattva Shantideva
"I alone will practice all that is wholesome. Those who are powerless and under the control of karma and delusion are unable to benefit themselves or attain their own purposes. Worldly people are completely unable to make their lives meaningful. Therefore, I shall practice what is wholesome for the benefit of all sentient beings. While others are engaged in inferior and menial tasks in which they encounter many difficulties, how can I sit here at peace and do nothing? I must and shall benefit them, but without ever succumbing to the poison of self-importance."
Santideva

Wisdom and idiots
When a wise individual attains an advanced degree,
you have a true human being: wisdom coupled with knowledge.
When an idiot attains an advanced degree yoy have a qualified idiot
When a qualiffied idiot becomes an educator you have a disaster
When a qualified idiot becomes a politician
you have a national tragedy.

Black Elk
“But now that I can see it all as from a lonely hilltop, I know it was the story of a mighty vision given to a man too weak to use it; of a holy tree that should have flourished in a people’s heart with flowers and singing birds, and now is withered; and of a people’s dream that died in bloody snow.”
