If one happens to meet
an Accomplished One during this incarnation,
offer to such a Buddha
one's body, speech and mind
for the service of revealing the hidden
nature of Buddhahood to all sadhakas.
Allowing such a Buddha to speak
wonderful truths regarding the Emptiness of Reality,
even if at first unpleasant to one's sense of self,
enthusiastically love such a practitioner of the Dharma.
Some may react with the aversion
of one who is internally exhausted
by the incessant demands of the senses
and the fiery pangs of material desires,
but to those who are situated in goodness,
the false acharyas slip away as often as time slips away.
Making friends with the Inexhaustible Truth of Emptiness,
one will live with the Joys of a Realized Mind.
As expert in irrigating
the watery tides of one's emotions,
the arrow like one pointedness of mind
shoots for the goal of equanimity,
reaching the distant shore
of the Nothingness that is the Bliss of Nirvana.
As expert in deflating the subtle attacks
of the mind's essential dualism,
the words which compose the Dharma
makes one as internally composed
as a windless night and as immobile as a churnless ocean.
Desiring neither the enjoyments of an illusory self
nor vainly grasping after ideals that are not in harmony
with the Dharma, the Accomplished Ones keep on walking
no matter what gets in their way.
When properly taught
by either the Buddha within or the Buddha without,
the Emptiness of Nirvana and Samsara
becomes as clear as the Light of Freedom's Day.
