A Noble Character by Julian Colgan

Faced with the terrors of universal suffering in all directions,
what can the community of practitioners do
to restate the noble truths of noble human strivings
so that others may awaken to the emptiness of their minds?

Never complete until everyone is complete,
the truth of impermanence makes every human teaching
into mere deception by eroding everything that is
a part of the phenomena which is studied in depth and from afar.

Finding a stability in that thought which transcends thought,
grasping and taking all of the eternity of change in one's mind is
a surefire way to release all that which needs to be released
for the free flowing nature of space and mind
to run into each other so as to dissolve every perceivable object.

Finding no right in being right but in doing what is
of a noble character, emptiness is the great equalizer
in which what is far is near and what is near is far.
Far is the path of accomplishment and near is the desire to succeed
in stocking the fire of discipline and the zeal for removing all suffering.

Someone who is of a noble character sees the truth in all beings
and honors what each living mind can do potentially and actually.
Going farther than the farthest distance by becoming nearer to the nearest
compassionate thought, what awaits the enlightened is the destiny of all.
